Anti-Virus Software - principally for XP

Regarding Anti-Virus software. This applies to Win 7 and XP.

I installed Avast! on both 7 pcs and the XP guests, but as it was only free for a year and caused more intrusiveness than attacked viruses, I Uninstalled it - everywhere. MSE does a good job - but, with XP no longer being supported and MSE not Updating on it, I've had to flog around for something else. I stopped paying for AV programs after getting rid of Bullguard [back in the days of XP] because it complained about every Toolbar and add-on on IE. After MSE came in, if BG found something, MSE used to appear and snatch its prey. I've tried AVG, AVIRA and a few other freebies, but they seem to cause Startup problems with the slower XP. As I always run AV before closing down, I figure it isn't necessary to have huge AV programs slowing things down at Start. There's a new [apparently] AV called 360, which I've installed on the XP guests. It appears at Startup just briefly and starts work. I run it before closedown and it also cleans up Junk and speeds up the pc. It seems O.K., taking that my Guest O/Ss don't need to go online often. Probably if the folks are using XP heavily, a purchased AV would be necessary.
