While the phone's Maximum Retail Price (MRP) is Rs 37,500, or around $641, Apple is currently offering a discount of Rs 4,000, bringing the price down to Rs 33,500, or around $572. Customers will also be given a case worth Rs 2,000 for a limited time with their purchase of the device. The 8GB iPhone 5c originally launched in the U.K. in March, followed by several countries throughout Europe in April. It has yet to be announced for the United States. The launch of the device in India was first reported a couple of weeks ago. India is becoming an increasingly important emerging market for all phone manufacturers, Apple included. During their Q2 2014 conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that sales of the iPhone in India had more than doubled.
