Posted May 24, 201410 yr Total novice here. I crushed the hard drive on my Gateway laptop. I bought and replaced the hard drive. 1) To install an operating system can I utilize my product key for the previous Windows 7 (Never made recovery discs) or do I have to purchase another whole set of disks and license? 2) If i can use the product key to gain access to the operating system, how do I do it and install? 3) if not, do I purchase a 32 or 64 bit system for this machine.
