Guest MichaelBossWN Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 A bunch of programs (?) keep popping up about "needed updates," "viruses detected, "download" this, "download" that. I "X" them out, but they keep coming back on screen. A few of the names of them are: "My PC Health Kit". "System Optimizer Pro", "iYogi", "CompuClever", "PC Clean Maestro" and others. They all want me to "download" them to fix the 6,000+ (later 500+) problems I SUDDENLY HAVE, which I didn't have a WEEK ago. (That is how long I've been trying to eliminate them. I usually spend over an hour TRYING, then giving up. I do NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO? I raN Microsoft Essentials and it reported "NO PROBLEMS". I am ignorant when it comes to using a computer, much less "fixing" one. Have I been hit with Malware or viruses, or things like that? If so, what can I do about it. The guy who works on this computer had a car accident and therefore is unable to help me fix these problems. So, I am not going to bother him. I feel totally overwhelmed. I would love to LEARN how to fix problems like this, and other things. But I do not have the $$ to go out and buy "Dummies" books which might help. I am also afraid I'd have A LOT to learn before I could ever get to the "fixing computers" stage. I need HELP - NOW ! Will someone out there take the time to help an old, home-bound, disabled, and VERY CONFUSED, IGNORANT man get back "on the road to (computer usage) recovery?" PLEASE !!! THANK YOU, IN ADVANCE !!!
