Guest DarbyPentacle Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 A few months back, my system started to get whea_uncorrectable_error when playing Everquest. I play on the Emulation servers and I would run between 6 and 12 game clients simultaneously. Always worked just fine. Now, however, I can only run 4 without worry of crashing the system. If I run extra fans I might be able to run 6 but it is still likely that I will get a crash now and then. Unfortunately, I don't recall if there had been any major changes to the system before this started. So, I created another system on a new hard drive and it was only for gaming. So to run EQ, I would boot to this new system and it seemed to work a little better for a while, but then it too started to crash with the same errors. I run WhoCrashed and it notes that hal.dll and dsound.sys are suspected of having issues. I have included the report. I have also included a system dump of my hardware from HWMonitor. To date, I have tried resetting the bios settings to default. I have NOT updated the bios, however. I have updated to the latest nvidia drivers. Everquest requires DX9c to operate so that is what I am using. I have used Speccy to determine if I am suffering from a thermal issue, but although heat seems to play a part, my system is not going over into the red zone. I have used other heat monitors to verify this and they all seem to say the same thing. I have also run memtest86 without logging any errors. Anyway, if it is possible to have someone look over my crash dumps and give me any idea of what is happening, I would certainly appreciate the help.
