Guest Rajdeep218 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I am running Windows 7 64 Bit Notebook PC for almost three years. Of late, I have noticed that all my System Restore Points are being deleted. When I view the Event Viewer, an Error No: 14 shows with the comment " The Shadow Copies of Volume C: were aborted because of of an IO failure on Volume C " Please note : ~This does not happen on restart ~ Earlier I had configured the maximum usage to 1 % and after this issue I have raised it to 2% [ 4.73 GB ] ~ My Volume Shadow copy services is set to Manual... as was always ~ To clear the cache I have also tried System Protection Off/Restart/System Protection On/ Restart but to no avail. ~ I have sufficient space on my C:Drive = 207 GB Free out of 236 GB. ~ This has been happening randomly..... 13th, 15th, 16th. 19th and 20th May, 2014. I constantly see the Event Viewer and then create new System restore Point should all of them disappear. I read that this is a signal that my Hard Drive is packing up.
