Guest JeffMorgan9887 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Hi I have a Pavilion 1060 w/ 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5 @2.90 GHZ processor, 6 GB of RAM I have no idea what happened and I've been sitting here for awhile now feeling like a bit of a dummy because I can't get the sound to work. The speakers say they're working, the green light is on. The operating system shows nothing wrong that I can find anywhere, down in the taskbar it says everything is normal, and when you right click on that icon, nothing wrong. In the Device Manager it reports no problems. No yellow warning signs or anything. I have re-installed the audio drivers anyway, directly from HPs website just to be doubly sure in my troubleshooting, and restarted. Putting in 2 different pairs of headphones I have in both the speaker port in the front and in the jack in the back of the computer do not work either. Troubleshooting from typing in the start menu has reported nothing wrong I literally have not gotten up from the chair so the speakers couldn't have fallen and broken or anything, and they haven't moved so the sound isn't turned down on them. Plugging in the headphones directly in the back of the PC doesn't work, anyway. Windows reporting absolutely nothing out of the ordinary is bugging me. I was trying to figure out a BSOD message I got earlier and ran Verifier.exe because of a solution on a forum somewhere pertaining to it. I didn't write down the steps though which was dumb. A few months ago I had 2 antivirus programs installed at the same time and my computer Blue Screened and has never been the same since. Sound seems like such a simple problem and due to frustration now, I bet it's something I've overlooked. But II can't figure it out so does anyone have any suggestions? I've done a system restore to a week ago but it didn't help. It has to be something I did in Verifier.exe but I'm not sure at that point where to go from there Continue reading... Quote
