In earlier, "better" (?) versions of Windows, when you run the task manager you have the option of displaying a mini icon in the reporting area of the task bar which shows the CPU percentage. That feature has disappeared. I am not sure, but I think it was also initially available in Win 8, until some update nuked the feature.

This arrow is pointing to an approximation of what it looked like (this is a different tool). It was a black box with a green bar graph.

 

 

I like being able to see a quick graphical representation of CPU use for times when the system response slows down. Is high CPU use the problem or is it high disk rate use?

 

 

Can I get it back?
