Touch screen requires extra tap to gain focus after update

Hi

My computer automatically updated 2 days ago (Im using Windows 8.0 on a touchscreen Acer Aspire). Since the update completed, it now takes an extra tap to press a button on the touch screen after typing. Once the screen is tapped, it performs normally and each tap is executed. But as soon as I begin typing, the first tap to the screen goes unregistered. Two questions:

1. Is this a known feature that I can fix with a setting?

2. If not, can I undue the update?
