Correct DirectX downloads to reinstall for 64-bit windows 7?

I am having issues with any game that uses DirectX, or more specifically DirectDraw or Direct3D as far as I can tell.

I have some games that MUST have DirectX 9.0c, and what came with Vista or 7 would not help.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit professional, but I have a dual-boot system with Vista 64-bit home premium and the games I had installed under Vista still work fine while they refuse to run under 7. I used a disk-saving trick of installing the games under 7 to the same directory on the Vista partition, so they can't be corrupted unless it is the registry, but that is suspicious that all games are affected.

I attempted to run dxdiag, but both the standard and the 64-bit button seem to be missing some panels. This includes the "test directdraw" and "test direct 3r" buttons on one panel. I've been using DirectX and dxdiag since Windows 98.

For reference, here is what I was kinda expecting to see, taken from my old XP system

So, what files should I download to reinstall DirectX, all versions? I tried several but they don't seem to be having nay effect.

Oh, any program I launch that uses DirectDraw or Direct3D just crashes and exits.
