Guest Clayman1000x Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I am working on a Toshiba Satellite P105-6024 laptop, Ubuntu 14.04 with the Cairo-Dock installed, I have no sound but a when a UBCD disk is in it gives me error beeps when I hit some keys while waiting for it to appear onscreen. I did a search, several wordings exactly, and found no responses. I cannot get the sound to work. So I installed Win 7 on a different partition and the sound didn't work out of the box there either. I let Windows try and install a driver but it failed a couple of times. But then, I downloaded the Vista driver "Conexant Audio Driver for Vista" from the Toshiba website, "file:driver_audio_conexant_25636A.exe" and it installed and worked, so I know this system has sound, just don't know where to go next. i have already checked to see if Alsa was installed and it is. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but no gain. What can I do now? Continue reading... Quote
