Is setting up LAMP on CentOS 6.3 different from Fedora 20?

The CentOS is quite old, and I keep reading that newer OSes have changed a lot of things, such as firewall configging, etc etc. (what exactly IS systemd)?

 

So - for Feodra 20, can I use the same yum commands as always to install Apache, PHP etc. from the DVD?
