Guest EightBitZach Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I get an error on start up which says: "The system is running in low-graphics mode Your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself." I am running Ubuntu Desktop (newbie I know) version 12.04 (I tried the newest version 14.04 first but the GUI was extremely laggy) I have looked around and found a lot of topics. I have tried all the methods I saw and I have had no success. This started after I had some trouble in the OS with killing some terminal tasks for Minecraft and I backed everything up to a flash drive and held the power button on the machine to shut it off and this has been happening since. I am also not able to use "low graphics mode". I have tried that and it sits there and freezes for over 20 minutes. I am on a 4U server with a model number of: HP Proliant DL580 G5 and I am using the integrated graphics: "Integrated ATI ES1000 with 32MB embedded video SDRAM Max Resolution 1280 x 1024 x 16M color" It is an Intel based machine if it makes a difference. I also have a second server which works fine and it is the same unit as listed above. The low-graphics mode error does not show. Do you think this is fixable or should I just mirror the drives from my other server? Thank you in advance! :) Continue reading... Quote
