People in general don't.. it just works.

I know its hard for you to accept but that is the way it is.

Whatever you may claim the fact is that most people find windows and macs a

lot easier to use than linux and don't have as many problems.

If you want the real facts look at the percentage of users who switch to

another OS and that will tell you what users think.

Most people don't switch from windows, most people don't switch from Macs,

most people who get Linux abandon it and even more fail to get it to work in

the first place.

This should tell you something but it probably doesn't.. people who are

familiar with a subject seldom uderstand any of the difficulties others may

have.

Linux may be getting better but it is by no means better than windows or

Macs yet.

It still looks like it was put together by a bunch of technical authors who

write in a language the average punter on the street is never going to

understand (nor should they have to.. when(*if*) the linux crowd realise

this they may fix things.

Having a bunch of semi competent linux users shouting their heads off here

is not helping anyones cause.. it just makes the average user think that all

linux users are nutters and makes them want to avoid linux like the plague,

even I think that and I use linux and am ashamed to admit it here.

Is that all you can do when you have lost all credibility.. try and drag

other people down with you?

You may claim it is an insult but I doubt if anyone else here thinks it is.

You must have an odd view on life IMO.

Yawn. When you get over the fact that I use both Ubuntu and XP, let me know.

Speaking of kids, a friend of mine just brought over a Windows XP

computer that her grandchild uses and it's, you guessed it, fully

infected. Had the kid been using Ubuntu, there would be no infections

and she wouldn't have to pay me to clean up the computer. Ubuntu is

going on this machine and, being as the kid doesn't have any Windows

games or any need for fancy dancy Word docs, no Windows.

The neighbor upstairs also has a fully infected XP machine. So infected,

the AV was disabled, along with Spybot, Windows firewall and

Spywareguard. He is converting to an Ubuntu only machine because he

doesn't play games or have any need for fancy dancy Office files.

"Salvation for the masses"? Do you thing that a computer is a kind of

god or something?

I have, over and over again, said that Ubuntu isn't an OS the gaming

industry is interested in. As it grows in popularity, that will change.

I know you hate the fact that your god, Windows, is in the sunset of its

life cycle and that Linux is the coming thing but maybe if you open your

mind, you can live with it.

Um, Spain is not a third world country. It's economy is doing better

here is much lower. Every single person in Spain has health insurance,
