Guest Bobsmith235667 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 When I upgraded to 8.1, which I was prompted and encouraged to do so by the automatic updater, after an hour of rebooting, it forced me to enter personal information to proceed to my desktop. I of course entered a generic name of Bob Smith and a password I do not remember, as I assumed my old settings would remain. Now of course I am completely locked out of my computer. This is absurd, this will make me a Mac user for sure, there is not reason I need to associate my personal computer with an online account, I should have the freedom to use my personal hardware without being connected to the internet, I had not idea windows 8.1 was really just a chrome book designed to steal all of my personal information. I have attempted to reset the password, but I do not have enough information with the account I made up. Continue reading... Quote
