Hi!

I have a very difficult question regarding X11:

It seems that I'm using a not well known Samsung 21" Monitor (1600x1200) so it is not recognized correctly.

Without modifications the max. resolution is 1024x768

So I wrote a modeline for the xorg.conf

Code:

ModeLine "1600x1200" 165.00 1600 1712 1880 2160 1200 1203 1207 1245 -hsync +vsync

It works fine with Ubuntu 10.04/12.04 and the propr. nvidia-driver 3.10

Now I tried Manjaro. Same issue with the monitor. I created a description file with the mentioned modeline.

This resolution is used after logging in again, but with manjaro (no modifications - nuveau driver) the screen-image is shifted so much, that I can't see the left 100(?) pixels.

Using the Monitor "Auto" function can't center the picture correctly (stays as it was before pressing "auto")

So why is this modeline working so differently in Ubuntu/Manjaro?

Any Ideas?

Thanks - Flo
