Posted May 9, 201410 yr Some questions come to mind re this issue. Installed the 'fix', but really trying to understand 'what was the threat?'. What was so important that MS was compelled to issue this 'one time fix'? It would be helpful in deciding how to move forward, to know the answers to these questions. Most of the notices from MS have a rather ominous tone. I understand a lot of government computers run on XP. How does a 'one time fix' help them in the long run? Whatever is one to do? Do I totally scrap using XP and IE8? Do I use XP only offline/completely severed from the web, and aquire other means of surfing/computering online? What if I couldn't afford the latter, or, in the case of the govt had several million computers to deal with? Any insights anyone? Thanks. Continue reading...
