Windows Movie Maker - Panes are not displayed

Neither the Task Pane nor the other Movie Maker panes are displayed. In place of the left panel (where the Task Pane should be), a large preview panel is displayed with controls for play, forward and backward.

 

 

Anybody know what to do to display Movie Maker's panes, especially the Task pane in the left panel?
