Virus and Malware Start.MySearchDial and ImageInstaller and Wise Enhance

I tried to download a photo from Public Domaine Pictures and foolishly installed what was required, an image downloader of some kind, and ended up with malware called Start.MySearchDial which I can't seem to get rid of, along with other installations that came with it. Although clicking on "uninstall" after selecting Start.MySearchDial on the program list, it did go off the list, it still comes up as my home page instead of Google Chrome (was my default), FireFox, or Internet Explorer, all of which I have on my computer. I ran a quick scan and it continues to say my computer is protected but obviously this got through. When I click "uninstall" for the "Image package" and for another called "Image installer update" I get a window saying I need to install "uninstall.exe" or something like that, which is related to the "Image Installer" program that started the problems. And a window comes up for "the "Wise Enhance" program that was installed saying I should click it to uninstall Wise Enhance, but I'm afraid that will just make things worse.

I am NOT AT ALL tech savvy, so I am totally lost. I've never had to deal with anything like this at all before. Please help. Also, I don't know what "solution" correctly refers to in the designations for this post's referencing.
