Posted April 28, 201410 yr Upon installing aforementioned critical updates on my work station, my wired Ethernet home network began to act erratically. Initial issue was the inability to print on network attached printers which progressed to connectivity problems with remote desktop then inability to open some programs/ apps. Looking into the network it was noted that the IP addresses had changed (the printers had static IPs with the DHCP router having reserved IPs for the printers and attached PCs ). Upon using system restore, picking a point previous to the updates, network/ program issues were resolved; upon reapplying the updates one by one the issues began to reappear. I need help/ advice on how to keep my system secure AND maintain functionality.
