I recently took my pc (Windows 8) to a trusted shop to have a virus removed and they had to restore everything. Seems everything is back to normal with the exception of my sound. I am not a prolific pc person .... use it primarily for music from the 50's (Doo Wop) era. The sound was much louder before than it is now.

I used to set the speaker icon in the lower right to "60" and that was great .... increasing it as I needed. Now I have it set at "100" percent and when I play my mp3's with the Windows Media Player it isn't even close to what is used to be.

Like I said, I am not that great with investigating around the pc for fear of doing damage. Is there something that I am over looking to restore my sound volume? Is there a specific reason why this might have occurred? Hope I explained my problem so it can be understood. Any help in this matter is truly appreciated.
