Plugging in my iPhone 5 on my HP Windows 7 desktop PC causes Autoplay to pop up and ask to import the pictures from my iPhone.

However, when it is done with all the pictures and I go to close it using the red x or the cancel button, it asks me if I want to cancel the import. Regardless of what I say the window then freezes and the only way to get rid of it is to reboot.

Once I reboot and plug in my iPhone the same thing happens with all the same pictures being downloaded again in a new folder. Right now I have these same pics in multiple folders, so they are being downloaded.

Autoplay doesn't seem to be marking the pics as being downloaded and then hangs, so it just repeats the same issue over and over. Note this was working fine until about Feb of this year when the issues started. I can't recall if this was tied to any updates or not, but I've updated both the iPhone and iTunes a number of times with no change. Apple support says it is an Autoplay issue and can't help.

I've gone into Autoplay in the control panel and tried some different settings, but nothing seems to make any difference.

Any ideas?
