Posted April 26, 201410 yr After a disastrous experiment with linux ubuntu 12.04 lts on my dell laptop, windows 7 was wiped out on a faulty install. After trying a host of different ideas from the ubuntu forums which mostly led nowhere and added more confusion , I was finally able to boot back into windows using my windows xp sp3 installation cd to reformat the entire drive and do a clean install. When I lost win 7, I lost my internet and my wireless connection plus the dvd/cd burner which was restored with xp back but no internet and wireless remains a problem.To fix this(hopefully) I am going to use dban to scrub the drive and make a clean install with my windows 7 installation disk since there's no data to worry about. My question is since everything is erased will the drive C: be automatically created during the reinstall process? Continue reading...
