My list of updates since 1 April 2014 shows mostly Win Defender bug list revisions and a new version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool. Yet despite making no other downloads except PDFsduring that period, I have two new problems: on one PC, it's a virus in Hotmail that prevents me using the Back arrow by interposing a false entry in the email list named "msapps.net.xxx" where "xxx" is some kind of identifier; and on the other PC, jiggling wavy boxes appear in Windows Explorer offering to fix software performance issues. The bad guys seem to be an order of magnitude more sophisticated lately. Note: I'm using the Desktop version of everything, have security set to Medium, and have all security options enabled.
