Hi Microsoft Support,

My laptop (Lenovo Y500 - without SSD) came with pre-installed Windows 8.0 and I succeeded in resetting my computer to factory settings twice without any issues until now.

Recently, I bought a new SSD Samsung 840 250gb which I put in an ultrabay (removed dvd drive and connected my SSD drive instead.) I used Samsung migration software to clone my hard-drive and migrate all my data to the SSD. After setting up booting sequence starting with SSD everything went fine and the Windows booted from the SSD instead of hard drive. The current situation is that there is the exactly the same data on my SSD and hard drive.

Here is the problem. I cannot access the Windows Store or Change PC settings section as I wanted to re-install (reset my computer to the factory settings using the new SSD to accommodate my OS Win 8.) Once successfully re-installed, I would delete all the data on my HDD. I afraid to delete my HDD not to lose my Windows 8 that is capable or re-installation.

When I try accessing either the Win Store or Change PC settings, nothing happens and it brings me to the home screen instead of navigating there. There are no error notifications or anything. After clicking on the Change PC settings button, I can see the following screen for a few seconds, and then it jumps back to the home screen. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/kRKYZxjk57ES

Can this have something to do with Windows 8 security settings preventing me from cloning my OS and passing it to someone else?

As soon as I set back booting from my HDD and let it boot up, I can access both the Store and the settings. As far as I am aware, I cannot choose a drive to which I would like to place my Windows 8 during re-installation (resetting to factory settings), so I cannot initiate an installation when booted up from hdd. Or am I missing something? Is there a way to do so?

I have browsed the Internet and forums for the last few days and I could not find a solution to my problem, therefore, I would really appreciate if you could help me with this matter.

Thanks a lot.
