Posted April 16, 201410 yr About a week ago, I was hooking up a new router. One minute, my new (only two months old) Windows 8 computer was working fine. The next minute, it got caught in a loop. I get the manufacturer's opening screen. Then it goes to a Windows blue screen with a sad face saying it is collecting data. Then it goes back to the manufacturers screen, and it just keeps flipping back and forth between these two screens. I've been on the phone with the company that built the computer, and I've looked all over the internet for answers. Most seem to think this is an issue with Windows 8, though apparently Microsoft is blaming a virus. I'm happy to run a virus scan, but I need to run it from the command prompt, which itself does not seem to function as I'm used to command prompts functioning. So, I have not been able to run a scan. The blue screen with the sad face has an error message but flips so fast, it is impossible to read it accurately. Can anybody help? Continue reading...
