Posted April 14, 201410 yr So a while back a friend passed away and I got his laptop. It came as a Windows 7 Home premium, but he didn't like Windows and switched it to Linux. I switched it back to Windows, but I just used a Windows 7 Home Premium disk I already had, causing it to be a "non-genuine" version of Windows. It's been this way for a while now, and the "Activate Windows now" message slows down the initial start-up, and I cannot set a desktop background. I was just wondering if there's any way to get another registration key since the original is technically taken.
