I have already followed the instructions at Section 2 of http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/wiki/protect_defender-protect_start/windows-defender-on-windows-8-introduction-and/f1e00106-6687-4efe-9ec0-ed9f72fabb92 I am in the middle of fixing other errors regarding Kernel Security Check Failures. Guidance received while trying to fix the kernel issues includes my needing to turn WD on, but I have not been able to do so. What is my next step? Continue reading...
