Posted April 11, 201410 yr Hello, Okay, this is the 4th time I've tried to install SP 1 for Windows 7. I found that it would fail every time trying to dowload via Windows Update. When I downloaded the Standalone version and installed it I found that my Logitech M305 wireless mouse stopped working. Additionally, the internal DVD Drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20F) stopped working as well. I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 S6005. I have tried uninstalling the devices in Device Manager and restarting. No luck. The computer registers that its looking for the drivers via Windows Update but they always fail. In Device Manager they each have an Error Code 52 (something about "unsigned drivers" but their from Microsoft???). I have tried searching for the DVD Drive driver on Toshiba's site. Couldn't find it. I went to the Logitech site and downloaded/installed the latest driver software SetPoint 6.61.15 for the mouse. Nothing,.. When I run the Logitech Unifying Software to set up the USB Receiver, it says there is no receiver attached. I verified the USB ports work as my flash drives are recognized without fail. I have also installed the KB2529073 microsoft patch which I thought would have corrected these problems. No luck either. So now I'm really, really frustrated. What the heck! How is it that I install a SP from Microsoft and my devices stop working. Why can't I roll back to an old driver or why won't Windows let me install the correct driver manually? If the drivers became "unsigned" as the patch above indicates then why won't this patch fix it??? Oh, and the Hardware "Troubleshooter" can't figure it out either. So, would someone please tell me how to fix this thing? Thanks... Converted from Discussion to Question. Continue reading...
