Posted April 11, 201410 yr I'm running Windows XP Pro SPS-3 on a Dell computer whose age I can't precisely remember. When I try to run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, I get an error message saying that it's not a valid Win 32 application, and it just won't run. I haven't been able to find any articles or posts by other people with this problem, so I'm at a loss as to how I can find out whether my computer can run Windows 8. Any suggestions or thoughts? My computer has a 2GHz coprocessor and 3 GB of RAM, among other things, so it appears I should be able to make the switch. But, how do I go about determining that if I can't run the Upgrade Assistant? I've even tried Googling this question, which usually finds just about anything, and can find no reference to this problem. Any help will be appreciated. Continue reading...
