Posted April 9, 201410 yr After a good five months of having no issues, I'm suddenly having problems with a single user account accessing our shared server at work. -There are five/six computers in the office, all of which are having no problem accessing the server. My laptop has two user profiles. One has access. -When I try to access the server on the problem profile, I get a username and password prompt. There is no username/password combo that I can think would apply -When I put the username down as Administrator, I get the following message: //XXX is not accessible, you may not have permission to use this resource. Contact the administrator... This user can't sign in because this account is currently disabled. I have tried turning off and on admin privileges to the problem profile, deleted cached network passwords, have removed the mapped drive and tried to remap it, and disabled the guest profile (which had appeared after being disabled all this time.) Just before this I had done a system restore to correct a different issue (The laptop refused to acknowledge the wireless adapter.) I don't know if this altered a setting or not, but it seems odd that only one profile was affected when they were both set up at around the same time. Continue reading...
