Posted April 9, 201410 yr I've attempted to install Windows8 as upgrade from WinXP. Upgrade Assistant said the Dell Optiplex machine could handle the upgrade. However, installation seems to be stuck in a reboot loop, showing a choice of Win8 or WinSetup, with a message saying "Windows 8 will run automatically in 30 seconds." Following the countdown, it "reboots" to same screen. I was alerted to expect several restarts and extended time. This loop has been going on for 3+ hours now, though. Should I assume the installation is stuck and isn't going to work. I don't even know how to get out of the loop. Suggestions, please! Continue reading...
