Hi there,

I have installed Xubuntu on an old Dell Dimension 2400, with embedded graphics Intel845. The 'Try Xubuntu' works great. It shows my monitor at 1600x900 resolution. If I do a lspci, I get: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Co 82845/GL[brookdale-G] chipset Integrated Graphics Device(Rev 01). All that is correct... So I installed, and Xubuntu is the only OS on my 200GB disk. But then when I boot, I get the boot menu; moments later it shows 'the Xubuntu' logo in the middle in clear graphics. And then, nothing. Blank screen... When I go back to the live disk and check /etc/x11 on the disk itself, there is no xorg.conf file. What do I make out of that? Or is that the problem? If yes, how can I rectify it. If not, is there a distro that doesn't have those graphics problems? Thanks in advance for your help.
