Posted April 8, 201410 yr I've created a Windows Live account for my daughter to use, jumped through the authorization hoops, and added it to a tiny Windows 8 laptop I'd like her to use for homework. She is set up as a standard user with Family Safety (not at a very restrictive level, everything off but web filtering). When I log on with her account I am shown some new background image I'm not familiar with with the time and date displayed prominently at lower left and icons for wireless signal and battery status. That display is not functional; any key press or swipe returns the computer to the user selection display. I'm not sure whether to characterize this as being unable to log on or being unable to do anything but log off once logged on. Locally turning off Family Safety for the account changes nothing. Unfortunately the next most obvious troubleshooting step (reverting Family Safety on the Windows Live web side) doesn't seem to be possible now that I've validated her account as belonging to a child.
