can I save downloaded updates (after they are installed) to reinstall later again?

I've downloaded and installed my last round of xp updates (planning to still use this old machine off line till it dies because I still like it).

If at some point in the future I want to reinstall the system from scratch, can I save the updates I've just downloaded and then reinstall them?
