Nope, no issues with the 4 years of electronics in HS, or post HS either.

Let's see.....a bachelors degree in electronics.....

What, a bachelor degree in business for your marketing company....

How many other degrees have you printed ?

Yes Minor.........very minor.

Actually, I'm suprised you can do anything with a soldering iron being an

EE. I've NEVER met an EE with any soldering skills at all.

Frank's electronics "degree" enabled him to design this "can" phone

which it plans to market with his phony marketing company.

You know how Frankie lies. He claims to have replaced a capacitor.

Wow, I'm impressed, really big "modification". Odd, I would call it a

replacement. That of course assumes Frankie knows how to use a

soldering iron/pencil. Then there is that little matter of un

soldering the old capacitor on those tiny circuit board traces. Sure,

I believe Frankie can do that, when pigs can fly. -)

Well, first thing that's required to qualify as an engineer, field or not,

is a bachelors degree.

So, no EE degree, you can not qualify for FE status.

Now you may think you have the knowledge for an EE degree, but.......

Frank being the complete idiot we all know he is will next tell us

he's a structural engineer or maybe he fancies himself an architect

because he still has a set of these in the basement:

It the same reason he says he has a marketing company. Frank

discovered Notepad and Paint on his computer.

Only one thing you need to know about Frank. He's a compulsive liar.

Sorry dan'o, but you have no idea what you're talking about.

When I was an active tech, Field Engineer designation was given only to

those who found hardware problems in the field, made on site

modification(s) which they then submitted to hq, where they were tested,

verified and only then officially incorporated into production. A

detailed explanation along with updated schematics were required for

submission. As I previously stated, I made over 29 hardware field

changes to some TI equipment.

Clear enough?

Yes, you were an active tech that found problems and fixed them in the

field. The detailed changes were sent back to HQ for the fully qualified

engineers to make sure that the changes you implemented in the field were

valid, that meaning 1) it did fix a verified problem, 2) the fix had no

immediate repercussions on other parts of the system, and 3) (depending

on the industry) that all safety matters were properly identified and

addressed and the company is satisfied that what was done has an

acceptable level of liability for the company.

That is an Engineering Technician.

Can you be more specific? I never claimed to any kind of engineer so

where I went to school is not relevant. My major was English and

Philosophy and that degree and a 1.25 euro can get me on any bus in

Spain. Computers are a mere hobby for me that I picked up years after I

graduated from college. I've never had any formal computer training yet

I am continually being accused of being a geek on this very newsgroup.

Go figure.
