For the last several weeks I have been setting up and learning a system that does the same as under Vista, a few things more with less hassle.

The system does not let me log on as root and I am forced to either SUDO or SU. As an experiment I created an administrative account, thinking it would give me the same access level as root. A couple of "forced" shut downs and reboots corrected this problem but sudo still does not work.

The su command still works.
