Posted March 26, 201410 yr A few days ago I hit a problem as soon as I allowed Ver. 7 update to run for Quicken Deluxe 2014. Once Quicken updated to Ver. 7 and I restarted the HP laptop, a pop up window (Security Warning) says: Name: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken.exe --- Hit “Run” When I hit Run, a Quicken Flash screen comes up temporarily and then the following pop up message: “Quicken 2014 – Your system has blocked Quicken from accessing the following files: C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Log\qw.log C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Data\QW.RMD You can fix this situation by doing the following: 1. Go to the files/folders 2. Select Properties – then Security tab 3. Change the listed permissions from Deny to Allow 4. Click OK 5. Restart Quicken” Note: I did this step many times and rebooted each time as well. Each permission has “Allow” checked for both files. Then a Quicken Window pops up and says: Quicken Window has stopped working. I've uninstalled Quicken many times since using Windows Uninstall program, QClean (by Quicken), and Revo Uninstaller. I tried to install Quicken in Safe mode and got a 1601 Error which I tried to correct with the fix instructions - it did not correct. Something keeps blocking the installation of Quicken 2014 Deluxe (I tried the fresh download from Quicken's web site and rom my original disk. Prior to this Ver. 7 Quicken update I had no problems opening or installing Quicken. To make matters worse, to try installing Quicken to a new user account, I tried to create a new user account in Win 7 and while it does create a new account, after I reboot, and click on the new user I get the message: "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." Any help loading Quicken 2014 *any version), or in fixing Win 7 so I can create and open a new users account would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike Continue reading...
