I want to be prepared in case I cannot obtain a Product Key for my 64-Bit Windows 7 Ultimate, which I have had for the past year. Yesterday, unexpectedly Microsoft blocked my Product Key. Originally this computer came with Home Premium. The vendor of the upgrade provided a new Product Key which Windows Activation would not accept. The Telephone option, which allowed no humans, stated that I had Ultimate installed on more than one computer, which is false. Oddly, I can still do Windows Update. Additionally, I ran Genuine Advantage which generated a Diagnostic Report that showed no errors. Can I downgrade without data backup? What do I need to to? This did not resemble other threads because the editon to which I would have to downgrade already came with this computer.
