Multitasking or Keeping an application running in background is simply impossible with the current design of Windows 8 phone.

Reason: As soon as the application looses focus, the OS just pauses it and does not allow it to execute.

This may be work for some applications it is totally unacceptable for applications like timers, stopwatches web synchronizers, banking apps and other similar apps which need to work whether they have the focus or not. This "freeze the app when focus is lost" is so annoying that I cannot even perform I-banking. As soon as I switch from IE for instance to copy an account number form Note, even just to copy some number and paste it there. the application losses the connection and requires me to reconnect. If an app start download and if i loose focus the download is messed up. Multitasking is such a basic thing a basic thing, I simply do not understand what the designers were thinking when they simply chopped off the the true multitasking and introduced this handicapped "freeze the app when focus is lost".

In official documents I have read that this saves the extra processing and saves the battery. Really? well how about keeping the phone off to save even further? Android people laugh when they come to know about this "battery saving feature".
