Being hacked, wifi infiltrated

I was contacted by someone on the phone and was told they were from microsoft. They informed me that I was being hacked and that they were in control of my system. They also told me that my wifi is being used or will be used in the future for criminal activity. Without questioning it at the time I gave them access to my computer and they showed me where the hacker was and what he was doing. They informed me that they have all my passwords now, that they are in control of my norton security, and that they can do whatever they want in my system. That they could at any moment. They claim to have fixed the problem and they installed a cleaning program. But then they tried to sell me some items totaling hundreds of dollars and I became suspicious and disconnected the link with them. Was it your company that called me? am I being hacked and in danger of my system crashing for good as they told me? Is my wifi corrupted and should be changed as they also have stated? Please help me with this problem. I am worried that these hackers will ruin my hard drive, use my personal information, and I need to know what too do so my system can be protected.
