Posted March 8, 201410 yr I'm running Windows Vista on an older computer, and Microsoft Security Essentials keeps stopping during scans, both quick and full scans (though oddly enough, it stops near the beginning of a full scan but near the end of a quick scan, dunno if that helps). I keep getting the message that the app's service has stopped, along with the error code 0x800106ba. I also have to turn real-time protection back on afterward. I've searched the forum for answers, but most of them involve Windows Defender, which I don't even have on my computer. Any help finding out what's going on would be appreciated. Continue reading...
