Posted March 2, 201410 yr I am building an active directory domain and connected 98% of our organization pc to the domain, I've transferred all of our staff’s files settings and outlook mails to the new domain account. Before I could party on my accomplishment the domain had hardware issue which forced me to rebuild it. I tried to rebuild the system as close as I could to the previous one since I have not backed up the settings yet. I have input exact user names and passwords into my active directory for users to log on the Active directory domain server. Unfortunately, users can't log in. How can I re-join pc to the domain without having to create a new profile, since it will cost me another 2 to 3 months of work transferring data from old profile to the new profile. Although copying data from one profile to the other helps, some programs still need to be reconfigured for it to run or function properly. And my main concern is the Microsoft outlook. Are there any tricks, such as editing the registry on the pc and server to replace the new profile name to the old profile name? Example: - When I first connected my pc to the domain the profile name is "ittech.snh" when I tried to reconnect to the Domain with the same username and password it gives me a new profile account with the name "ittech.snh.000". A bit lengthy but I need HELP!!!!! ANY BODY WITH ODD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SITUATION Continue reading...
