Posted February 27, 201410 yr It looks like (but not positive because I have not been over there yet) - My Parents got some kind of Malware or such on their Windows 7 Home Premium PC. There was no warning via MS Security Essentials. Next day after shutting down the night before, they started up and got a windowed message that said: 2/24/14: A rectangular RED Bordered BOX appeared., and said: Firewall has blocked a program from accessing the internet. intel\intel® management engine components\lms\lms.exe is suspected to have infected your pc. C:/windows/system32/SVChost.exe is suspected to have infected your pc. WMI provider host C:/windows/system32/wbem/wmiprvse.exe Recommended to purchase 99.00 windows antivirus tool At bottom of this message: Trojan Spy has infected your computer. There were some other messages she missed (can't remember). They cannot access the internet at all, or MS Security Essentials. or any icons when clicked. Nothing happens when they try. I talked her through reboot (she's done this with me before) and pressing F8 to see if they could access Boot Screen to start Safe Mode with Networking. The screen briefly popped up once and then immediately disappeared and went right to the Windows log on screen. All other attempts failed. So it appears it cannot be accessed at this point. So I am assuming it's an infection. 2/25/14: Needed or not, they contacted their bank> and they shut down any access to their online banking. Then more windows popping up: Google Installer C:/program files (x86)/google/update/googleupdate.exe intel\intel® management engine components\lms\lms.exe Microsoft Security Client User Interface C:/program files/microsoft security client/msseces.exe Microsoft Security Essentials still will not run. They tried this date 2/25/14 and the next 2/26/14. They also still cannot access any Icons on the desktop (programs), the main windows button (left-bottom), and obviously the "All Programs" area - (This worked once - but when a program was clicked it immediately stopped), or control panel, or access the internet. Only thing they can do really is Shut down. The Red Bordered box keeps appearing first upon log on...and re-stating all those listed Red Box messages..then another window pops up and remains on the screen at all times (the Windows Anti Virus Tool). That's the sitch. Need some help. Jay Continue reading...
