Can I have help with update Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1?

On my Windows XP Tablet Edition pc I've tried over and over to Run or Save/Run the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 update and it continues to fail. I first was notified that it had failed to update automatically today. But then even my persistant trials have failed. I even downloaded and Saved the file to my Desktop and then tried to run it. I always get the same Error. I've attached a PrintScreen of the Error I get in ALL cases.

I don't really want to mess with the Registry as I'm scared of making a mistake or of my computer malfunctioning in the middle of my changes and my not being able to Restore any Saved Registry backup as I don't have a clue about how to do that.

I really need one of those FIX IT FOR ME buttons for this. Is there one somewhere that I haven't found yet?
