Posted February 27, 201410 yr I have two PC's, one running W7 and one running Vista and on both I have had Windows Update set to "notify" when updates become available. Yesterday by chance (as it was outside the normal monthly update time slot) I noticed an update as available but I left it until this morning to see what it was. On checking, I found an update had been installed silently today... puzzled I checked my Windows Update settings... and found they had been altered to automatically install updates. I checked my Vista PC. This to has had the settings changed to install automatically, although the update history here shows nothing recently installed apart from MSE definition updates. Any ideas what has happened ? The only "common" update between the two PC's are the definition updates. Has something been slipped into those ? Continue reading...
