Posted February 21, 201410 yr Burstly, the company behind popular mobile app testing platform TestFlight and in-app ad manager SkyRocket, has been acquired by Apple. According to TechCrunch (and noticed by our comrades over at Android Central), some odd behavior has come out of Burstly over the past few days. Both their in-beta FlightPath mobile analytics solution and Android support for TestFlight were recently shut down, and neither change was announced on their blogs, in emails, or even on their social media channels. TestFlight has been a favorite of iOS app developers and we've even used it ourselves when testing new versions of the iMore app for iOS. Adding the technology behind TestFlight to Apple's portfolio will hopefully help enhance their presently woeful group app testing support. The terms of the deal haven't yet been announced, though Apple confirmed the deal to Re/code, saying (predictably) that "Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans."
