Posted February 12, 201410 yr I recently procrastinated for the second time about trying Linux. 10 years ago I was given a set of CDs and 2 inch thick manual for RedHat. I dare not, at the time, risk my one machine with it. Now I have 3 machines with win XP and the eventual prospect of more MS saga has swung the balance. Finally I became convinced that if all the intelligensia listed as "Linux Adopters" in Wikipedia (look it up) found Linux so useful and reliable and FREE, than I must also join those ranks. It is an impressive list. If that doesn't convince you then what else will? After several attempts, reloads, FIXMBR's, a linux dedicated 250Gb HDD I now have settled on Mint16, 32bit, running perfectly. (Dual booted). There is one only reason to keep winxp for me. I cannot get SiteSpinner to run properly. WINE is not perfect yet! The SS text editor does not work and it is important function. Linux is a superb OS, with a modest learning curve, and it will only get even better. Continue reading...
