why didn't my microsoft security essentials catch 2 serious viruses done daily

this am there was a screen which thank God I found out was malicious after looking it up on the internet.

every day I do a QUICK scan with Microsoft Security Essentials why didn't it find the SERIOUS viruses?

after I did a FULL scan it found two Malicious viruses.

 

also in Microsoft it suggested resetting my IE, I'm not sure I should do this. how do I know if I do need to

reset IE?

 

it also showed doing a manual virus &amp spyware

update mpam-feX64.exe download so I did. did I do the right thing by doing this?

 

when I was watching the screen scan I saw NUMEROUS GAMES that I NEVER PLAY &amp DID NOT DOWNLOAD.

How do I get rid of them?

they were listed under the heading Publicphantom EFXREALDRIVE (games) what does this stand for and did it come pre-installed in my Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop?
