FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 27, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted April 27, 2013 I have owned this licensed copy of Windows XP Home for over 10 years. It is not installed on any other machine than the one I intalled it on today. I am fixing my brother-in-law's desktop which got a virus and needed to install a new copy of Windows (since he does not have his CD right now). I registered and activated with no problem, then applied over 120 updates and have repaired nearly all the device driver issues. Now, when applying the next set of updates, I am being told the key I have has been activated too many times and I have to get a new key (which means buying Windows 7, apparently). The license agreement says I can use this software on a single PC and there is no stated limit or indication that I can only activate a certain number of times. This is unacceptable. I paid good money for this OS and I expect to continue using it until it goes off support next year. Please help. View this thread Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
